We’re about to loose our YouTube channel and thus our Google Plus account as well, as Google is insisting that I (a person) link my name directly to the profile. I did this once and all of a sudden doing an innocent google search of our group resulted in hits on my personal information, including my images and my friends images. That means anyone doing a google search will see images of my face instead of information about our not-for-profit. Very unfortunate as it stands, we’ll have to find another way, perhaps making up a fake person’s name for Google Plus. Hmm, maybe Sam Snead.
Some people throw their name out there, and that’s fine, but in our case we want an open-ended relationship with the community where people jump in and help and it’s not about money or fame. Let’s get to work.
